About the Job:

We are searching for a highly motivated individual with Dispatcher experience for a reefer fleet. This is a new position in our Operations Center Team dispatching a fleet of temperature controlled reefer trailers.

Job Description:

Coordinate movements of drivers and equipment supporting our customer base in the U.S. With a 30,000 square foot temperature controlled warehouse, dry vans, reefers, and a modern fleet of Kenworth tractors, our Operations Center Team hours are 5 ½ days weekly planning and managing shipments in a just in time environment. Utilize computers, telephones, and provide accurate documentation to drivers for assignments, and provide supporting office operations accurate records. Rotating on-call 24 hours daily, including weekends, and holidays. In our Team environment we all multi-task to support additional areas beyond our primary job responsibility, and have a culture of continuous improvement. Will have direct interaction with customers, drivers, 3rd party security monitoring firms, maintenance facilities, and others. Monitor driver adherence to requirements, and administer disciplinary action when required. Maintain positive relations with drivers and staff. Creates reports, analyzes information, and makes recommendations for continuous improvement. Special projects as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

•            High School Diploma or equivalent required. College Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

•            Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

•            Familiar with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

•            Familiar with software systems TMW Operations, TMW Suite, PC Miler, PeopleNet, MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.

•            General knowledge of highway systems.

•            Ability to multi-task.

•            Preferred teamwork experience, in a fast paced organization.


Competitive salary compensation is commensurate based on experience and potential. If the candidate is exceptionally well qualified, salary could be higher.

As a Lead Dispatcher, you will set the pace of the organization by managing the following activities:

  • Review dispatch system, update shipments and maintain system throughout the day.
  • Contact customers with shipments and update appointment or routing schedules.
  • Enter deliveries into dispatch system and assign drivers
  • Review and distribute manifests to drivers
  • Monitor and respond to incoming emails
  • Monitor driver progress throughout the day.
  • Communicate changes to customers promptly and maintain changes in Dispatch system.
  • Promptly escalate any Driver performance concerns to Operations Manager.
  • Perform set up for next day deliveries in system and communicate start times to Drivers.
  • Communicate shipment status to other company hub.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualified candidates should possess the following skills and abilities:

  • A minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in a Dispatcher role.
  • Be a strong leader, who can manage tough situations and still maintain respect.
  • Intermediate level computer skills, with experience in MS Office and dispatch software, such as Crown or Xcelerator.
  • Strong analytical ability with the ability to make quick decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and priorities, which often change throughout the day.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills is required.
  • Availability to work 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with the ability to flex these hours as necessary to meet customer needs.  This is a requirement.
  • Intellectual curiosity with the desire to never stop learning.
